Kind of fun for 3-4 hours in my opinion.Ziggurat is back, and now it's even better! Use powerful weapons and spells to break through hordes of enemies and explore labyrinthine dungeons in this hectic roguelite FPS, while you improve your skills and discover new equipment. Just pick something you are comfortable with and you are fine. In the end, all weapons basically just do damage and don't really change your way of playing. weapon switching gives you infinite mana for 2 seconds) but are also too low impact for my taste. They are better than the skills and allow for some cool things (e.g. I would have liked a proper skilltree that enables new combos or fundamentally changes the way you play or make decisions or something like that. They only increase certain stats or damage by a small percentage. Heroes are further differentiated by having different base stats, such as more mana for a specific category of weapon. The skills are unfortunately a bit boring. Characters (Ziggurat 2) Passive Bonus that is always in effect, unlocked at Mastery Lvl 3 Special Effect, which enhances their Active Skill and is unlocked at Mastery Lvl 6. Running through the levels to find the "boss key" somewhere on the opposite side of the level to the boss door (that you found already) also gets annoying fast. The core gameplay loop does not feel good enough for me to just have variations of "kill all enemies" again and again. The music is really good.įor my personal taste it just got repetitive really fast.

Had no issues with framerates, menus are clear and easy to understand and I did not encounter any bugs. The aesthetics, effects are nice and it is done really well on a technical level. This is one of those games I really wanted to like. You're bound to have a lot of fun with Ziggurat 2. Improve all skills of the same category in the Laboratory. There are 11 different wizards to play as, all with unique abilities, strengths, weaknesses, and perks. For Ziggurat 2 on the Macintosh, GameFAQs has game information and a community message board. I recommend playing the Campaign mode above anything else, as there is a lot of built-in progression between runs as well as a fun story and satisfying ways of unlocking weapons, items, perks, and characters.

You can always get the challenge you want. There are many difficulty settings to tailor your experience.

The formula is simple, and that leads to dozens of hours of good fun. Exploration is key, as you can find useful weapons, perks, and items tucked away in chests or in small unmanned shops. As you progress through a level, you gain knowledge gems (exp) that allow you to level up to increase your stats and select perks that can lead to powerful and effective builds. You play as a wizard, wielding an assortment of wands, tomes, staves, and alchemical weapons to take down endless hordes of magical creatures such as ravenous killer carrot mandrakes and vengeful flying spirits. The aesthetic and world is that of magical fantasy. Good movement and aim are key, no surprise. It is about dodging, funneling, and efficiently killing. The player won't be worrying much about cover. As such it can be a blast to play for all shooter fans except the most die-hard cover shooter players. Ziggurat 2 is a first person rogue-lite horde shooter with movement and weapons reminiscent of old-school arena shooters like the famous Quake.
